We teach in the gorgeous blue waters of the sea of Cortez in La Ventana, Baja California Sur in Mexico. We teach on the less crowded northern beaches of the bay. Wide open beaches with tons of setup space with foil depth water very close to shore. We get small chop most days but 2-4m short period windswell on norte days.

Typical Wind Speeds, Water Temperatures, and Best Seasons:

Wind speeds are typically in the 15-25kn range with norte fronts exceeding 35kn on occasion. Water temps range from 32C in August to 20C in February. Windy season is November to April but we get 300+ days a year of foilable conditions. My favorite months are November and March.

Conditions:

Bump and jump on typical days but medium to large rollers on Norte days.
