[00:00:00] Hey everyone welcome back to the show. This week we have Max Robinson joining us from Toronto, Ontario.

[00:00:06] Max is a local legend out here that is a crow wing foiler competing on the GWA tour.

[00:00:34] If you haven't caught last week's episode we caught up with Steve Toby from Maui and talked all about this year's Hawaii Downwind Race schedule.

[00:00:42] We reviewed the Voyager, Paddle Amoa, Maui de Malkai, and Maui to a Waffle Down and Races.

[00:00:49] We then talked about the physical conditioning and mental tenacity required, safety equipment.

[00:00:57] We reviewed this self-sufficiency and training required to survive in the case of equipment failure and much more.

[00:01:03] We even touched on Steve's favorite foods so make sure to catch that episode if you didn't get a chance last week.

[00:01:10] Now I want to take this opportunity to thank our team for making the show a reality.

[00:02:13] So now I really do hope you enjoy this episode with our good friend, Sir Max.

[00:02:25] Welcome to the WingLifePodcast where we talk about Wing Foyling and the lifestyles of those who enjoy this great sport.

[00:02:33] Max of us! Nice to see you, brother. Nice to see you as a little while.

[00:02:38] Yes, I've been a minute man. I don't know. I don't know like when we first started this thing, it was when I was one of your first guests right now you're sly in it.

[00:02:51] We didn't know anybody other than you. So I think we're like, all right Max, you got to come on. Man, we're also going to sink and we...

[00:03:02] Yeah, it's a beefball.

[00:03:05] I recorded it from a C plus. It's like an IGA Quebec IGA because that was on my grandma's with no internet.

[00:03:15] So we recorded it in a park and lot, which was all the early recordings.

[00:03:23] I remember that young guy around there is the back seat over there and I know but we're going to make this a little bit more.

[00:03:31] It's pretty much what I have. But anyways, it's a lot of change for use.

[00:03:37] And pretty sick to see you. Like all the boys back, because you're late as back home or it's awesome to see your journey into this pro world.

[00:03:46] Pretty exciting.

[00:03:48] Yeah, it's really cool. And on C.I. with the brands which too and being pushed harder than I ever before, it's been something special for Sherman.

[00:03:59] So what do you rank like currently fifths in the world tour and all disciplines I think is what I read?

[00:04:05] I always do a lot of men, I'm too old.

[00:04:11] Yeah, but yeah, now it's been really amazing journey, especially with the new golf team was pushed me hard.

[00:04:19] It crazy, crazy hard. And also especially, I think being like now I'm the oldest guy I'm recruiting after it.

[00:04:28] I'm on tour, I would say for the free stall tour at least.

[00:04:33] I 31 and you know, I'm just saying it in there and these kids keep me super young and especially

[00:04:42] you're saying with the level where it is now, like if I don't keep grinding,

[00:04:48] I don't stay focused with these with my training, with these grums.

[00:04:54] You know, I'm my fall off and I don't want that. So I'm having a lot of fun just continuing to push with these guys and seeing how long I can

[00:05:03] can continue to do that for.

[00:05:05] Oh, it's cool man. Well, you're like ranked, I think 23rd right now or 22nd sorry in free stall,

[00:05:11] which is amazing. Like this is not me just picked up. You didn't even like winging.

[00:05:19] You're like fuck this shit. And then here you are like competing against some of the best in the world,

[00:05:28] the best in the world obviously and do you want to walk like just maybe walk us through your last year or two

[00:05:35] for everybody who listen like all their buddies back in the great lakes and stuff we listen to the first one. I guess this

[00:05:41] is pretty much for them. So yeah, yeah, this is off for the homies right here in the East Canada for sure.

[00:05:50] Yeah, I would say like yes, since we last talked, you know, last spring I'm in a branch of to go

[00:05:58] joining like what is this crazy super team basically with Malibu Basch and Klamol, Retoty

[00:06:06] and Francesco now and myself as well as Malph Francesco's girlfriend Charlotte. And we have a bunch of

[00:06:14] other, you know, grums kind of coming up as well as, you know, amazing female athletes and it's just like

[00:06:22] it's crazy. So what I made that switch was kind of

[00:06:29] amainly just because I wanted to be a part of the other thing something bigger than myself

[00:06:36] to have such a strong team like I was just saying, you know, pushing me like crazy like I knew

[00:06:43] but if I wanted to succeed as a naively, if all like it was the change I was going to have to make

[00:06:52] you know, I'm super thankful to everything that Slicesha did for me, you know, getting me on to

[00:06:58] or, you know, making me professional athletes or taking a few the first time in my career.

[00:07:06] And but they're making that shift for me to, you know, stay or continue to progress and to be

[00:07:13] a little lie I'm now is was like it was, I thought it was the only option I had, you know,

[00:07:17] and I feel like, you know, as much as I still want more it shows, like, you know, back then I could

[00:07:26] do backs up some 360's very 360 variations. And now since joining the team I'm doing many,

[00:07:35] many more moves, you know, the boys obviously still have a bigger bag than me but I'm doing

[00:07:41] and yeah, it's that's that's been a really cool part of the journey for sure.

[00:07:50] I'd say to kind of summarize the rest is you know we moved teams, we went through the two

[00:07:59] or last year all together and you know, it's a new team with the where we're a big squad,

[00:08:05] you know, traveling around to all these different spots as well.

[00:08:08] For sure, we had our growing pains owning how to, um, to kind of be the best team we could be.

[00:08:16] But I think we're out of place now where we're all very, very much, you know, we well care for each

[00:08:23] other, we want the best for each other and we push each other better than, you know, then we ever have

[00:08:28] before so that for me is something really special about this group and this brand.

[00:08:35] Yeah, and you're riding with that. That's a high caliber. It's crazy. Yeah, yeah.

[00:08:42] And you miss all the big airs and like the boys want second and third with a malo and bashing

[00:08:48] absolutely going huge. Like they they were got great. That's why doing the biggest

[00:08:54] biggest fronts, you know, in the competition and bashing even going just as big as Malo

[00:09:01] but coming in with like half kicker, you know. So for me, like when I saw that, I was like,

[00:09:07] these guys is, you know, this is like yeah, these are the guys that I have set the bar for me,

[00:09:13] you know, and that's what I really love about this opportunity and that's why I'm really excited to

[00:09:19] go to the next stop, which is a, I'll leave on one day for a break there. So yeah,

[00:09:26] sick. So how I'm pretty exciting opportunity but what has been some of your favorite spots

[00:09:35] around the world that you've gotten to go to in the last year? I would say,

[00:09:42] it's true. I mean like with this, yeah, like with this and well opportunity with with the brands

[00:09:48] and everything, I think like, you know, I've been able to travel to since I last saw you

[00:09:53] I was on New Zealand. I was in Cape Verde, I was in Mexico just like yourself then and I was also

[00:10:02] like, you know, like, an Aileen's places that I always treated about going when I was a wind surfer,

[00:10:07] actually, or I was wind surfing a lot more, you know. And then I was then Brazil in the end of the year,

[00:10:12] like all of it continues to feel sick. Like it doesn't feel real because these are all these spots

[00:10:19] that I watch live streams of the best windsurfing athletes in the world going to. And now it's

[00:10:26] me going to these spots and ironically, it's in a different sport. But yeah, like I'm fanboying

[00:10:34] every single time I'm, you know, I'm at a new spot. And the first place that we got to go to when

[00:10:40] I joined the Gorgans team actually was like a place that dreamed of going through my whole life.

[00:10:46] And I was poseo last year, right? So like it's 35 knots every single day. Let me see the biggest

[00:10:55] moves ever being thrown at a wind surfer there. And we, you know, we came into the spot and we just

[00:11:02] did exactly the same thing that always, you know, we just tried to go as big as possible and,

[00:11:08] you know, kind of level up the sport last year. I think for me, that was one of the best events

[00:11:15] ever, I think like last year's poseo just like how big everybody was going. I see the

[00:11:22] innovation that came from that, you know, that live stream. I think you go back and watch stuff

[00:11:27] for an example of years because it's just absolutely insane. And yeah, so that that spot is definitely

[00:11:34] up there for me and it got like fair spots. But I think it's just, you know, every single time I get

[00:11:42] new opportunity to go, you know, to any of these places, like every single adventure has been,

[00:11:53] you know, one that I can write home about. Like it's, it's been a really special journey.

[00:11:59] And, you know, I just like, yeah, I want to try and do as long as I can because,

[00:12:05] yeah, this is me fun-loading, right? This is the stuff that I'm going to be able to talk about

[00:12:08] to my kids, you know, for years to come. So it's when you're 90 to join joining all of them. Yeah,

[00:12:16] yeah, and I'm holding Busted from the sport. You know, I'm a big person or some met blocked.

[00:12:26] You'll still be fine. 95. You'll just be certain. So stuff instead of flipping maybe whatever it'll

[00:12:32] be. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And with the Canadian healthcare, yeah, I'm good. Sure. It should be fun.

[00:12:39] Sure. Yeah. So pose those out there. Yeah. Like do you bring your

[00:12:47] windsurf kit when you go or do you just bring your wing stuff? I would it's just, you know,

[00:12:53] you're where especially with this team, especially with this team, we're locked in. Like we get up

[00:12:59] we eat, we go to spot, you know, Malawas survive for six hours a day. I can manage maybe

[00:13:05] about three to four and we're, um, we're, um, as kind of like we're like, we eat, sleep,

[00:13:13] sorry, we eat, we sleep and we were breathing, winged, boiling, where we are, you know. So

[00:13:18] don't really have the time for it unfortunately. Yeah. But I will, I know for sure, especially with

[00:13:23] homies back here, um, you know, Tyler McKay and I will call ya like they're still throwing down

[00:13:32] super hard, especially when it comes to freestyle windsurfing. And I'll dabble again. It's just,

[00:13:37] like I said, you know, this is me doing my best not to fall off in the stay on and

[00:13:45] progress to, you know, the level that yeah, I can be proud of this for sports all done.

[00:13:50] Yeah, that's fair. Yeah. Well, man, you're doing, you're doing well. You're doing pretty well.

[00:13:57] Like that ranking is that rankings good. There's nothing wrong with that whatsoever and, um,

[00:14:03] it's pretty sick. So what moves have been the ones that you've been working on that you've

[00:14:08] progressed on like in the last couple of years since we chatted last, that you would have added

[00:14:13] to the repertoire and how much time or how much effort did that take to kind of nail those,

[00:14:19] does it help to be writing with those guys because you can analyze what they're doing,

[00:14:24] all that comes. I would say 100%. I think the best, first time to see the best coach in the

[00:14:29] world, this is Loki, um, is Malah. Like he is an absolutely incredible analytics and, uh,

[00:14:40] the way, uh, when I get to ride with him, um, you know, if I want to try something new, he'll break it down

[00:14:48] and step by step for me and I'd just go for it. And, you know, we're two people, I think,

[00:14:55] once in a team dynamic that aren't afraid to try anything. And I think like, uh, I know

[00:15:04] for us like fashion, clay mall, they are, um, they have kind of their bag and they, they don't necessarily

[00:15:10] try new moves as much, um, but they go massive and, and they do their moves super, super well.

[00:15:18] Malah is definitely an innovator and I'm somebody who just loves to shine these stuff. And so

[00:15:24] our dynamic when we're training together, uh, really pushes that. And, um, so when this Malah,

[00:15:30] you know, if Malah was doing something new, I just asked, you know, how do I do that? I try and

[00:15:34] it takes big stacks. Obviously, you know, crash on other place. Um, but that is like, uh, yeah,

[00:15:42] I would say that's like, kind of how everything started to develop. You know, they would be like,

[00:15:48] especially when the boys learned the back mob, uh, last fall. Um, yeah, it was last fall.

[00:15:55] Um, you know, I, I was like, oh, how, you know, I don't understand the move.

[00:16:02] I just, you know, that I just started trying it and then, uh, you know, come Brazil, I just, uh,

[00:16:08] you know, leading up to Brazil. I just kept talking and they kept on giving me tips and then finally

[00:16:13] I started to stop them and all. It's one of my most consistent moves and so I think that's

[00:16:20] as we indicative of like the team dynamic, you know, like I don't think I would be able to have

[00:16:25] gotten that move. Maybe, you know, and it might have taken me twice three times four times the

[00:16:33] time I wasn't on this team. Yeah, I mean, they have just the right gear for it,

[00:16:38] after the right, um, you know, after right people around me pushing me to like learn how to do

[00:16:43] something like this, um, whereas, you know, having to die, die, knows the technique myself just by

[00:16:51] watching Instagram videos might take my taking me a little bit longer. Although Instagram definitely

[00:16:56] does help, you know, sure everybody's just like creeping the gram all the time, like you can

[00:17:00] yeah, like okay, that's how we do this and everybody starts to try to learn in a couple of weeks

[00:17:06] and then go on to something else but yeah, they they they help me so much for that. And I'm

[00:17:16] yeah, I'm super thankful the boys for that. All right, okay, and I guess what comes after this

[00:17:22] GQ bottling contracts like you'll have to like what was next?

[00:17:29] Man, you know, it's really cool. I just wanted to touch on a few things. Okay, for sure that

[00:17:34] are a little bit outside of the tour and then and it kind of all has stuff, um, so you may have

[00:17:40] heard about it but we started, um, well in Canada there's a new pilot programs that started because

[00:17:49] LGP, we may have heard of it a couple of weeks in foil and they're basically going around

[00:17:55] around Canada and they're going to start doing this also, you know, in North America as well,

[00:18:01] piloting, wing foiling, wind foiling as well as wasp foiling. And I'm, um, I decided on as one of

[00:18:10] their, one of their coaches which is super cool. Yeah, so I, we just got back from Kingston on

[00:18:17] the area over the weekend where we were doing demos for four days and we had to just

[00:18:24] solo every single night and the stoke was insane. Like people are just like

[00:18:30] walking off, you know, walking through the, um, the harbor, walking through porcimeth, seeing it,

[00:18:37] signing up for the next day. Um, so 55 people over four days, you know, between winds foiling and,

[00:18:46] winging, I don't like a full boat stack with like nine people. You know, like with our demo kit,

[00:18:53] this kind of like showing people how to do this doing the toe foiling as well and people

[00:18:58] their first flight behind the boat was like, it's, you know, it's all part of it, um, introducing

[00:19:04] while I was in product and equipment and, you know, it was insane. And then afterwards,

[00:19:11] everybody walks up to you and they're just like, what's like when kind of do this again? Like,

[00:19:17] can you coach me, uh, you know, and I think that for me, it just like, that's that's,

[00:19:25] I think eventually how I would like to leave my mark on the sport. It's like getting as many people

[00:19:29] stoked on it as possible. And, you know, I think building up my base is an athlete to eventually be,

[00:19:37] you know, coach down the road. You know, it just made it, it makes sense. You know, it'll give me

[00:19:44] more range to of things to be able to teach down the road too. You know, with more experiences that I have

[00:19:51] and it was a, you know, Kingston was just, you know, shall I say just kind of scratching the surface

[00:20:01] is like that. First of that seeing so many people excited about it and let's just, you know,

[00:20:06] we're just getting started. Okay. Yeah. I saw that, um, after a Facebook story or an Instagram

[00:20:13] thing about that, because I think we had gone sailing now the week before, and they got scum to a

[00:20:20] couple days later. But it's such a beautiful town for anybody who hasn't been like, rate on Lake

[00:20:26] islands around like it's gorgeous there. Yeah. It's, uh, that's like one of the crazy things about it

[00:20:34] too. It's like it's not only just gorgeous but it also has like a local thermal effect too. So

[00:20:39] you see in eight to ten lot for a car, so probably going to get a close to 15. And so like,

[00:20:44] you know, we were able to get soiling basically, I think it was like three out of four days,

[00:20:52] you know, for me. And I think that's like, yeah, it's pretty unheard of in Montario

[00:20:58] during the summer because the trials and glass flights. So yeah, it's been actually really,

[00:21:05] it's been good here to be honest like in the last month, I've only been able to get a two or three

[00:21:10] times but the neighbor who just retired has been 11 times in a month and may in June. That's

[00:21:17] unheard of since a long time ago. Hey, where'd you get that one by the way? That's a pretty sick mug.

[00:21:22] Yeah, man. This is a present from a Brooklyn accent actually. Oh, there you go. Thank you.

[00:21:29] Yeah, right. Thank you. That's got you in all over it. So

[00:21:36] yeah. All right, so working, working we can which is that's huge. Yeah. Man, that's a,

[00:21:46] you know, that's the special thing and you know, with the work and we can

[00:21:53] it also kind of, it's it's it's tapering into all this other stuff to here. So like with Ontario

[00:22:03] sailing as well, there are starting a part of program where they want me to go to a variety of different

[00:22:12] clubs and yeah, basically like so different yacht clubs, different sailing clubs

[00:22:20] and demoing and doing clinics as well. Thanks for and for these these programs. Like, you know,

[00:22:27] some of just demos telling like we can't afford. They want to be full on some of your kids. I was

[00:22:30] sailing back around the Never Donuts for. Yeah, I tell you Luke like there's kids I'm teaching

[00:22:36] and like two and a half hours like, you know, it's and I know like I was you know, you have your

[00:22:44] new podcast with with demo and what's the name against? Sorry. Yeah,

[00:22:51] yeah, yeah, absolutely absolute legends by the way. And like it's but yeah, like I,

[00:22:58] they probably would say the same thing like you have like, you get the right coaching and you know,

[00:23:03] you can probably you can get people up within like the three to five hour window

[00:23:08] who I've basically no no wind sport experience. Maybe a bit of water sport experience probably

[00:23:16] in that time frame and it's crazy like it is as crazy how fast people are learning. I like to

[00:23:23] take it to sailing clubs, so you're just sailing clubs and to like have people who are like,

[00:23:31] to like sailing athletes and try it will be I'm sure they're like we're going to be a foil

[00:23:38] kind of boat like this and they'll probably be able to get forling the wing in their hands like this.

[00:23:44] And I think yeah, learning curves with wing forling and pair of something like

[00:23:48] landing on the fish up so the wind surfing it's like, yeah, like three hours is probably like three

[00:23:56] months. You know, three weeks makes sense. Yeah, I come carousel crazy. So that's a cool.

[00:24:05] And that's how Max Robinson got on the cover of Sports Illustrated for 2025.

[00:24:14] Whatever man you're the man to the year in Toronto works out. It's all right take it take it.

[00:24:20] Oh, yeah. It's pretty cool. Yeah, no, no, it's pretty it's just sensational to see

[00:24:30] to see you progress through that compete with the best kids on to work at the travel to some

[00:24:36] absolutely amazing spots work with a great team. A lot of it based on dedication hard work in

[00:24:45] awesome people back in Toronto and stuff like that. Like it's phenomenal to see that and it's really cool.

[00:24:51] And we're super proud of you and super happy to see you have fun. I think that's the main thing.

[00:24:55] You get to have fun and you stay in pretty jacked at 31 pretty good. I got really lucky with the

[00:25:03] base I have by Paul my like here, like I'm in trouble right now and he'll like the team and the

[00:25:13] coach, you know to have the opportunity to go overseas and work with all as well and knowing that

[00:25:23] I'll have this place when I come home as well. Yeah and then the support too, you know, like

[00:25:32] it would not have it would have happened if it wasn't for the base that I have here in Toronto and

[00:25:37] all the people that support me from day one, you know, when it comes to the club, when it comes to

[00:25:43] brands, you know, and the recognition that I got because of because of all of that.

[00:25:51] I love them so I'm super thankful. I'm so happy to to the club and all the people out it.

[00:25:57] Yeah it's like, you know, 600. You obviously over 600 members. Right? Yeah, yeah.

[00:26:01] We're surfing boat. Sick. And Ellen like it's now like it gets Porsche them. The good

[00:26:09] are weighing in. You'll see, I know, percent you'll see definitely like, you know, at least over 50,

[00:26:16] 60% of those people on the water weighing now. But yeah it's a special scene there for sure,

[00:26:24] especially especially in the heart of Toronto. Yeah and we should probably give a shout out to Mr.

[00:26:30] John Vu because I know he's going to be wanting to learn some moves off here this year, right? So

[00:26:35] yeah. Man, I'm trying to chase this guy. But he went to, I think you went as well. It's

[00:26:41] long be all right? I didn't go but it was, no, yeah John and who else a couple other boys?

[00:26:48] Sure, come and boys. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know he, I am he is, yeah, like John is,

[00:27:00] John is like he is like, every wind sport person Toronto's best friend. And he's definitely

[00:27:13] probably my, I'd say like he's a mentor of mine at this stage. Like he's helped me a lot,

[00:27:21] through that kind of every step of the way. He used the fuse the first, first time I went to Sam

[00:27:26] and Sam was because of him. The first time I went, you know, even further west like PC because of him

[00:27:34] winging the part of it was because of him and his outlook on the sport. You know, and we're always talking

[00:27:42] tech and he, so I think like his, his, John like he said to you man like you, you inspire me like

[00:27:52] no other in this when I, I mean, I think you know 55 years old, excuse me, sorry about that. Um 55

[00:27:59] years old still absolutely, you know, chilling the game, what riding waves like, you know, like a

[00:28:07] bomb out there, um for sure. Yeah, like yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like a 40 year old. He's like, yeah,

[00:28:14] five and say that's sick. Yeah, so I'm, yeah, he was, he was just special to the guy and, um,

[00:28:23] you know, when it comes to talking life relationships, all stuff he's, um, he's, he's there for,

[00:28:28] he's there for me. So he's aged a job. Yeah, absolutely. So you got to trip coming up

[00:28:37] on Monday and go represent the excitement. Yeah, yeah, I think pretty, I feel pretty prepared like

[00:28:46] I'm here. There's not obviously not many we don't get the conditions I would get overseas

[00:28:52] as often. So I did my best to kind of stay on point with my training on the water, but most of

[00:28:59] these, it's a job. The gym running all that kind of stuff, yoga like every day twice a day, sometimes

[00:29:06] three times a day outside of the working hours that I'm putting in at the club coaching. So that's like,

[00:29:14] that's kind of what I focus on a little bit here in Toronto and I think it's for myself as

[00:29:21] guys on older athlete, like if I don't do that then I will be ready. I think honestly, like I could

[00:29:28] put in hours on the water, but I think you know, when I do what I do at the gym and then I go

[00:29:35] for trip to get time on the water, I don't get beat up the same way. Okay, I really noticed that

[00:29:43] putting in the extra hours on the gym, it allows me to not worry at all on the water. Like,

[00:29:52] I can say whatever and I know I'm not going to be broken before I think you remember,

[00:29:57] I was like, spending my ankles all the time. And now I'm just, again, I was still going to the gym.

[00:30:02] So taking care of myself but not as much. And I think like when you really commit to

[00:30:11] distratching and mobility work, the strength work to make sure that all the

[00:30:16] messes and joints are on point. That goes a long way and being able to send it as big as you want.

[00:30:24] And then it takes to get off the worry about the ankles giving out or spraying on some

[00:30:29] or breaking something because everything's just, you know, robust. So I think that's been, that's been

[00:30:40] yeah, that's been kind of my focus right now for heading out that way.

[00:30:43] Did it surprise you how your body adapted to becoming with the right routine to getting stronger

[00:30:50] to the level that you could feel comfortable to take bigger wipeouts? And it wasn't as big as it was before?

[00:30:55] Yeah, I think like the biggest thing is trying to as weight management sometimes too. So

[00:31:01] I'm going to worry about it too much like I'm 95 kilos, potentially 95 kilos plus.

[00:31:07] And with winging it's not as not as big of a deal because you can just use a

[00:31:12] like you're bigger weighing, it doesn't really affect you too much other on rotation speed.

[00:31:17] Sometimes in later wins, so 95 kilos is a little bit much for sure. And sometimes especially in

[00:31:24] lighter wins, but you know, I'll take the extra five kilos in muscle to make sure that I don't

[00:31:33] necessarily break myself. Right? I think that's kind of where I'm at right now. And like as I

[00:31:38] taper off and hopefully need a whole lot of muscle and maybe get a little bit lighter than

[00:31:45] it comes go a little bit bigger. But yeah, adapting to the adapting to kind of my body is

[00:31:55] at the time of question you're asking? Well, just seeing like I just turned 41 and I've been

[00:31:59] trained weight training for a year now and just starting box jumps and I used to be able to box

[00:32:04] jump just below my chest. Like, and then now I'm working back up to it. But it's like it's for some

[00:32:12] reasons society seems to tell us which is John Voo's our perfect example of like society around here

[00:32:18] and can't a US seem to tell us that after 25 you're done, but it's like I'm still surprised by

[00:32:23] how well, how well my body does that 41. And like this year most of our bodies that are in their

[00:32:30] 50s and 60s like at West are like incredible shape. They figured out what they have to eat.

[00:32:37] They figured out what exercises work for them and their bodies become more and more bulletproof.

[00:32:43] And that's it, right? So it's like it's super fun to go and have your exercise days and

[00:32:50] and realize it's like it's kind of bullshit. Like we can keep going for a long time.

[00:32:56] Like Sarah, Sarah Keaton, just turned what 32 33 or something and she's still ripping up number one.

[00:33:02] Yeah, I think we're the same birth here and she's not slowing down because it's okay better.

[00:33:08] I think that's the thing, right? Like the science is there not to keep everybody on point

[00:33:13] for longer than ever. People are motivated for it to stay out point for longer than ever.

[00:33:20] And this is the most failed I've been maybe in my entire life.

[00:33:24] It's like at least strength, strength, strength wise for sure.

[00:33:30] And the cardio's there too and I don't really see myself slowing down.

[00:33:35] The thing like now that I know that I don't break myself was much actually,

[00:33:39] I think I see myself speeding up. That's also, I think that's yeah for me it's

[00:33:45] yeah like the adapting to it, you know, sure the odds carrying helpbox to pounds in the water

[00:33:51] but when it comes to the performance man's crazy. Like I remember, I remember being here

[00:33:58] for the first time, I'm sorry, when I went to France to start working with Gong

[00:34:09] back in Shen you, no, sorry, back in March after the kind of three month blockers of training

[00:34:18] at home. I remember being how powerful I felt on the water and like knowing that like all

[00:34:27] hard work was paying off and you know, being able to not feel tired at all.

[00:34:34] You know it's like the wing is obviously easier. It's a lot easier holding up a big insert

[00:34:38] cells for sure and that's what I was used to that for but to have like gone through the training

[00:34:45] and then feeling it on the water, like feeling the ability to be more explosive and more dynamic.

[00:34:53] That was like that was really cool and I definitely like I'm such an advocate for putting

[00:34:58] and putting them in those hours at the gym. Like our team does that as well every day from 8 to 9

[00:35:04] back in back in France, they're getting after it. I'm making sure they're working on all of

[00:35:09] it and it shows, it shows. So it's just no there's no secrets. Like we're just working hard

[00:35:16] in the boys work hard. I'm doing my best to keep up all of them here as well. So okay.

[00:35:21] Yeah. All right. Are there any new tricks you're pulling out for this upcoming contest?

[00:35:29] That's a good question. I started that you can't talk about.

[00:35:34] I don't have any inos personally. I might yeah, there may be may not be a few that I'm aware of.

[00:35:44] All right. The maybe mayor may was mayor may not be working on.

[00:35:50] Um, so in up in a I mean by innovation like there's a multiplex actor you've probably talked about this

[00:35:57] to a few of the other guys. But you know, innovation moves. You know, we get a little bit of a bonus

[00:36:04] for putting something new. So putting down something new over onto and freestyle.

[00:36:10] Freestyle aspect of things. And so I, yeah, so we're always looking towards

[00:36:18] trying to doing new new and exciting tricks. I don't, I must not be any new inos. But I was working

[00:36:25] really hard on one of the moves that again, Malah was teaching me how to do. And that was the

[00:36:31] the we calls it the blindo, which is a blind backside, corks seven, which is like you

[00:36:38] can just say that sounds insane. And I, um, and yeah, I've been starting to land it more and more

[00:36:48] consistently. So that's a big one for me like that, you know, stop clean. I think that is for sure

[00:36:55] like an eight plus maybe even sometimes a 8.5 plus scoring the newer and, you know, before like my bag never

[00:37:04] had anything bigger than, you know, six is on it. But now it's a back mob with that moves,

[00:37:11] some combos like I think as long as, you know, I can get the moves that I know I can do

[00:37:20] land it. I believe that I have the ability to make it. You know, up to the quarters,

[00:37:27] potentially a top 10. And I'm always kind of missing out just by this much. Which has been annoying

[00:37:33] but, um, you know, I totally, I totally believe that I can keep out with some of these kids

[00:37:42] for a bit at least. So, so, sorry. All right, you got this. What's the next event after

[00:37:52] after four to one two? So, I come back actually to Churato first,

[00:38:03] where until I was flight back to France on the 22nd of September. Before that, there's a whole bunch

[00:38:10] of stuff that's happening here all so, um, I'm on top of all this, you know, we can foil stuff

[00:38:21] coaching across North America. We're also going to be, um, and then obviously the Ontario selling

[00:38:29] stuff. I also, um, I talked to you about this before I think as well but, um, I'm partnering with

[00:38:38] this, um, this, uh, the brand Brown Girl Outdoor Hurt, um, whether trying to get a black and

[00:38:49] Christmas woman of color, um, ultimately doing more outdoor adventure sports, um, niche sports.

[00:39:00] And so, partnering with them is going to see myself, um, and, and this, and this group of,

[00:39:08] of women who'll be doing a weekly, uh, wing and wind, wind surf classes. So, every Tuesday

[00:39:17] if during a month of August, we're going to be doing that. And that is got to get text from

[00:39:23] the me, should who runs and just like they want more on a like, all right, that's got it, you know,

[00:39:28] so that's amazing. I think yeah, so I think that's really cool. To know that there's,

[00:39:34] there's a what from a community that you haven't seen, um, necessarily thrive in, in these spaces

[00:39:42] before and for me also as like, um, as a person of color as well, I want to see that ever. So

[00:39:49] I want to see, uh, these people survive in the space that I, that I love and like this is, you know,

[00:39:56] if I'm able to give you, you're going to ask the national F field, um, you know, into the hardest

[00:40:03] somebody else. I know that they're going to go, or they will feel absolutely insane like, you know,

[00:40:08] it's like all you want to do and like that people work and live for this. Like, it's, there's

[00:40:18] nothing else that's on their minds when they start doing it. And, you know, so I know that like our

[00:40:24] niche is something really, really special and I hope that, you know, as these people got a chance

[00:40:29] to try and, and to progress, like, I know that's going to be, you know, something that they're

[00:40:39] something that I'm really excited about. We're trying to work for as partnering with them,

[00:40:45] near, um, you know, what partners that will that work towards creating a world

[00:40:50] inclusivity within within our sports, within these, in these niche wins, works. Um, but, uh,

[00:40:59] yeah, I think that's a, that's a big goal. My, uh, this summer can make that, uh, to make more opportunities

[00:41:05] there. And, uh, some excited to work with BGOW shout out to Jamisha for, uh, you know,

[00:41:12] things such a large and make all this happen. And, um, yeah, so that's kind of, uh, it's a big

[00:41:19] chunk of my summer, but we can't foil, you know, um, they want that that reach work with BGOW

[00:41:26] and hopefully a few other partners on the way, we'll see where that world see work goes. And,

[00:41:32] ultimately, um, yeah, then we, uh, we have after that, I think there's, um, they're going into

[00:41:42] the fall, a lot of training and then we have a bizarre, a wrap up season like every year. How is that?

[00:41:51] Brazil is absolutely insane. Like you see, it gets you want to have, like, softs, I think like

[00:41:59] there's those options. If you want to like ride and like soft easy waves, um, you know,

[00:42:04] and 20 or 25 knots every day, you have that. You want to go somewhere where it's like,

[00:42:11] you know, you got some, you know, pretty intense shorebreak, you have the,

[00:42:15] you want to ride and like crazy wind as well. You have that and you have every day,

[00:42:20] you know, for me, it's like four, five, five, five, oh powered up every single day.

[00:42:29] And everybody else always sees like three, five, four, oh. But yeah, I think that for me is like,

[00:42:38] yeah, and you can be in board shorts as well. So I think that's like, that's a place like

[00:42:43] for winters. I think, especially with winging now where like you know, the matter what,

[00:42:49] you're going to be able to go on the water every day. I'd be surprised if it doesn't blow up even more.

[00:42:54] So yeah, like, um, so I, and the such a bit like, you know, the soft, the soft re-break wave

[00:43:02] riding as well. Like it's, um, yeah, it's, it's, it's pericuter was wild for that.

[00:43:10] On the comp, that mean,

[00:43:14] shed like it's the best one. Like that was my stop, my first back moment competition.

[00:43:18] How my biggest score ever in a move, um, you know, and it's just like, yeah. So it's great

[00:43:25] memories there with the whole team now, the trees even came with us to we're making content,

[00:43:30] like all winter for, um, for 2024, you know, release package, um, all us on line now too.

[00:43:40] So, and um, the app that's uh, that was, yeah, it was also like, there's also like you have to go

[00:43:48] with your half to go. Yeah, down the list, we'll, we'll, we'll go eventually. I think it'll

[00:43:54] probably go back to Mexico. I think for this winter and, and she'll there and I got a bunch

[00:43:58] into gear to play with, which is going to be super fun. The little shout out to Nora thanks,

[00:44:02] Lothor, hook him up with this stuff. It's going to be super fun to play with. And,

[00:44:07] you're, you're, you're sending and I got the, uh, sponsors. I got the name that he got,

[00:44:13] like the new, um, talk show, like, your own fire. There we go. I might, I might you try to, like,

[00:44:19] head a little baby jump this year, like, get the foil out of the water. I might try. I might try.

[00:44:24] May have to call you for some tips though. Yeah, I'm going to say, man. Yeah, me up. I'm sure

[00:44:28] I think you're too humble with them. I know you got, um, you probably learn pretty quick.

[00:44:35] I do want to try, like, um, I was going to get down to a smaller board this year. We'll see how

[00:44:39] it goes. But uh, you're rocking right now. He's wise. 72.

[00:44:44] That's the size. Me too. Yeah. Yeah. It's a nice size. Hopefully. I'm going to suck it around.

[00:44:51] Yeah, I can come back in and like next to no wind and does not allow me to freeze, which is really

[00:44:57] nice. Am I going to go down to a 56? Because I, it sinks a bit of ninch below the water, but it's

[00:45:02] super fun. So I might try that this year. Yeah. And I got to do surf foils. I want to try first time

[00:45:08] hoppin off of 15. So I'll go to 12 down to a neat 30 and then if I like that, Michael Smoller.

[00:45:14] I don't want to see, man. We'll see if we didn't talk much about gear, but we can talk about

[00:45:19] another time, but it was more just want to catch up and see how you wear or just excited about your

[00:45:23] whole journey and stuff. Yeah, um, yeah, likewise, man, it's been really nice catching over the

[00:45:29] you know, thanks. Like huge thanks to golf for bringing me on obviously, I'm in for an incredible journey.

[00:45:37] You know, it was in, it's a massive growing, uh, being a massive growth point in my career.

[00:45:44] And then obviously like yeah, in the trial region, I can't think TWC enough.

[00:45:50] Thank you for partnering with, you know, my, my outreach program level of playing field and

[00:45:55] proctor world as well as, um, you know, um, everybody on the board directors for approving all

[00:46:04] of stuff that I'm keen to kind of push forward. Um, and then also, yeah, like, you know, just like

[00:46:11] all the support from the home is here, like family friends, um, club members, like this kind of

[00:46:16] being in my corner and always cheering me on. They're always the first ones to the comment on

[00:46:22] screen of the Facebook. And, um, you know, that doesn't go on notice like everybody here.

[00:46:28] That's in my corner is, uh, you know, there might be ones and they always will be.

[00:46:34] And so I'm really excited to kind of represent, um, you know, our region and hopefully throw down

[00:46:40] an extra events, uh, you know, on on our behalf. Just take down McDonald's man. It's fine.

[00:46:48] Take a mouth. Take a mouth. We got some people over here that can help, you know, we got

[00:46:56] a lot of people. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, it can be as many as I was bringing the access.

[00:47:02] You know, right? We all have longer ducks, always. It includes an access. That's all we have up here.

[00:47:10] Well, hey, brother, thanks for thanks for taking the time to chat. I hope that we can

[00:47:15] go as well and that you see flight out. And we're looking forward to following you at

[00:47:19] these next event. So, uh, yeah, it was nice to catch up. Yeah, so thank you so much. I'm

[00:47:24] gonna, uh, yeah, hopefully we get a session in one of them, exactly. So

[00:47:28] yes, if I'm still here, we'll definitely and, uh, yeah, sand banks in the fall man. Still pretty

[00:47:34] close. Yeah, let's get it. Let's go. Pretty fun. All right, guys. Thanks for joining us on this one.

[00:47:40] And, uh, yeah. Oh, before we go, um, if people are wanting to look at up any other projects that

[00:47:46] you're working on, uh, where did they go? Um, right now, like, uh, their locals and they want to join

[00:47:53] rounder outdoor worlds. Obviously, they're gonna have, um, they're gonna have the, the

[00:47:59] all the information about the events coming up through their Instagram. We can't foil us

[00:48:03] about Instagram as well. They're gonna be posting dates nonstop. Um, and if you want,

[00:48:08] book a last-to-move me intro, that's also an option. You just go to Toronto,

[00:48:13] Win surfing club. That's win surfing club.com and you can book a last-to-move me probably, uh,

[00:48:19] through their website. So. All right, brother. Thanks, man. We'll catch you soon. Yeah, all right.

[00:48:25] Peace out.
